Softeq is looking for an experienced Embedded Linux System Engineer to design a secure and reliable software for the hardware ecosystem based on embedded Linux. The role includes design and development the overall Linux software, update, and deployment workflow with a strong focus on security, reliability, and maintainability. Location: * Vilnius, Lithuania (employment or B2B contract, hybrid/remote work) * Warsaw, Poland (B2B contract, fully remote) Key Responsibilities: * Architecture design and Linux embedded software development, including mechanisms for signed firmware, secure boot compatibility, and trusted update delivery * Define strategies for safe system updates, including rollback, atomic updates, and recovery mechanisms * Design the end-to-end deployment and device update workflow, from build artifacts to installation on target devices * Prepare technical specifications and architecture documentation Key Expertise: * 7+ years of degreed experience in firmware development; * Strong C, C++ programming skills; * Embedded Linux system architecture experience * Yocto Linux knowledge; * Full understanding of SPI, I2C, USB 2+, RS232, CAN etc. interfaces; wireless communications (WiFi, BT/BLE, NB-IoT, LTE-M); hardware peripherals (e.g. PWM, ADC, DAC, CAN, UART, etc.); * CI/CD integration experience * GIT • Docker • CMake • Make • Bitbake • SCons • Jenkins  * Firmware update frameworks and OTA mechanisms * Secure boot and signed firmware updates * Experience with collaboration tools (JIRA, and Confluence) and software configuration tools; * English language written and verbal communication skills (min.
