Senior Embedded R&D Engineer – Wireless Transmission Systems (m/f/d)

A global leader in professional audio technology is looking for an experienced Senior Embedded R&D Engineer to take a vital role in developing the core transmission technologies that will underpin future product platforms.

This is a senior hands-on role combining wireless system architecture, PHY/MAC development and digital signal processing, with a major focus on the emerging DECT NR+ standard.

The key requirement is strong wireless communications expertise combined with the ability to work from system architecture through to hands-on embedded implementation. Direct DECT NR+ experience is preferred, but engineers from 4G, 5G, TETRA or comparable wireless technologies are also strongly relevant.

• Key responsibilities:Define and develop wireless protocol and software architectures
• Design and implement PHY/MAC functionality hands-on
• Develop reusable technology at platform level for integration across future products
• Work across different layers of the wireless system rather than within one narrow technical area
• Investigate technical challenges, prototype solutions and support ongoing R&D
• Act as a senior technical point of contact across engineering teams and external technology partners
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects

• Key requirements:Experience developing complex embedded or electronic products (C/C++)
• Strong experience developing wireless communication systems or protocols
• Background in 4G, 5G, TETRA, DECT or comparable wireless technologies
• Strong understanding of PHY and/or MAC layers
• Ability to define technical architectures and implement them hands-on
• Ability to work across multiple layers of a system and understand wider technical dependencies
• Previous technical leadership, mentoring or project coordination experience

• Nice to have:Experience within professional audio, wireless audio or media products
• Direct experience with DECT or DECT NR+
• Experience coordinating external development or technology partners
