Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement advanced embedded software solutions using modern C and C++.
• Drive the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design to implementation and automated integration testing.
• Collaborate with project teams to define and refine technical system requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and promote software quality best practices across development teams.
• Develop and maintain component tests and unit tests to ensure software reliability and maintainability.
• Ensure compliance of software solutions with applicable industry standards and technical requirements.
• Analyze complex system interactions and contribute to architectural decisions for embedded products.
• Work closely with international development teams and stakeholders in an agile environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to software architecture, development processes, and testing strategies.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality embedded systems for mission-critical applications.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in embedded software development and software architecture.
• Strong expertise in C and modern C++ (C++14, C++17, and/or C++20).
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles and complex system-level interactions.
• Hands-on experience with hardware-related software development.
• Practical experience with Embedded Linux, RTOS environments, or bare-metal architectures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in agile development environments.
• Ability to work effectively within international and multicultural teams.
• Fluent English and very good German language skills, both written and spoken.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with RTOS technologies such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
• Background in safety-critical, security-related, or regulated industrial environments.
• Experience designing scalable and maintainable embedded software architectures.
• Knowledge of automated integration testing and software quality assurance methodologies.
• Experience leading technical discussions and mentoring development teams.
• Familiarity with international development projects and distributed engineering organizations.
• Knowledge of modern software engineering practices including CI/CD and DevOps concepts.
• Experience working on connected devices, embedded platforms, or industrial control systems.
