Meet the Team The Cisco Wireless Feature & System Engineering team builds end-to-end wireless capabilities across access points, controllers, and cloud-managed platforms. We design features that span device software, control planes, and management systems to deliver seamless, secure, and high-performance enterprise Wi-Fi. Your Impact As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will lead development of key software components and subsystems for wireless access points. You will drive design decisions, ensure high-quality implementation, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable and reliable systems. In this role: Lead design and development of software subsystems and features Drive architectural decisions within your area of ownership Debug and resolve complex issues across multiple layers (networking, OS, system) Collaborate with platform, radio, QA, and cloud teams for system integration Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of the system Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance Leverage and promote AI-assisted development practices within the team Minimum Qualifications Have 7+ years of experience in embedded or systems software development Strong expertise in C/C++ and software design Deep understanding of Linux systems and networking protocols (TCP/IP, L2/L3) Experience designing and owning subsystems or large features Strong debugging skills across system layers Ability to influence design and execution across teams Interest in system-level optimization and scalability Preferred Qualifications Experience with wireless systems and Wi-Fi features Experience with performance tuning and large-scale deployments Familiarity with distributed or cloud-managed systems Experience using AI tools to improve development workflows Why Cisco?
