Description

NO DAY WILL BE THE SAME - HERE ARE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS

We’re looking for an experienced Energy Cost analyst to join the Energy Optimisation team, supporting the growth of the B2B business through the creation of our own non-commodity cost forecasts.
The Energy Optimisation team is responsible for all hedging, trading and volume & cost forecasting activities for Good Energy and as such it plays a significant role in the delivery of the gross margin of the company. In this role, you will be responsible for forecasting, analysis and monitoring of energy supply third party costs, alongside another analyst.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

We’re looking for someone deeply committed to helping companies achieve net zero and with a strong understanding of environmental issues. You’ll bring extensive experience in energy cost forecasting, coupled with a solid grasp of energy policy and regulation. As a self-motivated team player, you’re adept at building strong, collaborative relationships across the business, and you demonstrate a keen interest in the wholesale energy market, its costs, and associated risks.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Modelling & Automation: Build and maintain dynamic cost forecasting and risk analysis models in Excel and Python, implementing automation for routine tasks to significantly boost team efficiency.
  • Data Management & Support: Oversee cost data within pricing systems and serve as a key resource for Sales and Pricing teams, providing support on energy supply costs and tariff creation queries.
  • Performance & Insight: Develop a comprehensive suite of KPIs to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and analyse cost/regulatory updates to propose adjustments to forecasts and risk premia.
  • Team Development: Actively contribute to the growth of junior analysts by sharing technical skills and fostering industry knowledge.
  • Cultural Leadership: Advocate and embody Good Energy’s culture, consistently role-modelling the desired mindsets and behaviours.
