Our Concrete Consulting practice is recognized for its technical leadership in concrete materials, durability, forensic investigations, precast element design and construction support services. As we expand nationally, we’re seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Engineer to lead business development efforts and drive the growth of our Concrete Consulting services across Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
  • P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) in Canada.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive experience in concrete consulting, materials engineering, or construction services, with a strong industry network.
  • Proven track record in business development, client management, and securing consulting projects.
  • Deep knowledge of concrete materials, durability assessment, construction practices, and forensic investigation.
  • Strong leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client development and project opportunities.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Engineer focused on business development and national growth, you’ll be responsible for building strategic client relationships, identifying market opportunities, and securing new projects across infrastructure, transportation, building, and industrial sectors. In addition to developing new business, you’ll work closely with technical leaders and project teams to position Elements Engineering as a go-to partner for concrete consulting services nationwide.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of a national growth strategy for the Concrete Consulting practice.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities with public and private sector clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent Elements Engineering at industry conferences, technical events, and client meetings.
  • Develop marketing and proposal strategies tailored to client needs and market sectors.
  • Track market trends and competitor activities to identify new service opportunities.
  • Collaborate with practice leads, technical teams, and regional offices to align business development initiatives with company objectives.
  • Support the hiring, mentoring, and development of staff to grow the national Concrete Consulting team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of service offerings, processes, and technical capabilities.
  • Leverage your expertise in concrete materials, durability, testing, and construction practices to support client conversations and project scoping.
  • Participate in project reviews, proposal development, and the positioning of high-value technical solutions.
