WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Data Technologies – SQL, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory
• Work Experience developing code in Python and DBT
• Demonstrated experience in completing and managing multiple projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Obsessive about customers with a capacity to understand market and strategic drivers
• Proven ability to write effective, scalable code to solve complex problems using an analytical and data driven approach
• An eye for detail with an appetite to test, learn, understand, and continuously improve accuracy and performance of code

We are searching for a Senior Engineer, Data Platforms to join our Digital & Technology department in our Melbourne office on a 9-month fixed term contract.
We’re looking for someone to lead our data engineering initiatives and collaborate across business units to deliver robust, scalable solutions. You’ll help shape the future of our data platforms by focusing on building, integrating and optimising our data architecture to support strategic decision-making across our Marketing, Community Cricket and High-Performance teams.
You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing data pipelines using modern technologies like Microsoft Fabric, DBT, and Azure Cloud; championing data literacy and governance; and supporting analysts and data scientists with high-quality, timely data.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Data, you’ll be responsible for:

• Design and Deliver Scalable Data Solutions: Lead the development and implementation of integrated data platforms using modern technologies (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, DBT, Azure Cloud) to meet the evolving needs of Australian Cricket’s national business units.
• Champion Data Governance and Literacy: Promote strong data governance practices and drive data literacy across the organisation by engaging stakeholders and supporting analysts and data scientists in using data effectively.
• Manage and Optimise Data Infrastructure: Monitor and enhance the performance of the data warehouse and analytical tools, ensuring timely, accurate, and secure data availability for decision-making.
• Provide Technical Leadership and Support: Act as a subject matter expert on data engineering projects, offering third-level technical support and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and improve systems.
• Drive Innovation and Stakeholder Engagement: Advocate for new technologies, assess their relevance, and lead the rollout of targeted data solutions while actively managing stakeholder relationships to align with strategic priorities.
