The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer to join our Substation Secondary, Protection & Automation Engineering Team in our Adelaide office. Working alongside fellow engineers you will be accountable for interpreting engineering scopes and producing deliverables in accordance with Client, Australian and International standards as applicable. You will have proven leadership experience working in teams and you will have expert knowledge in the design and testing of High Voltage (11 kV – 500 kV) substation protection systems as well as a good knowledge and understanding of schematics, panel layouts and substation automation. Finally, you will possess a pro-active approach to design and a positive team attitude. We are seeking someone with Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering Worked as an electrical engineer in power systems for over 10 years Engineering accreditation or eligible for accreditation as Chartered and RPEQ Good knowledge of the design and layout of HV substations and the major components which comprise HV transmission and distribution networks Expert technical skills in reading and designing Substation Protection SLDs and Protection Logic Diagrams. Expert Technical skills and knowledge in the calculation of protection settings for such systems as well as the creation of protection configuration files and bench testing (Proof of Concept testing) the associated IEDs Experience in the design, development, implementation and testing of IEC 61850-based system SCL including SSD, SCD, ICD, CID, IID, GOOSE, SV and MMS Experience in running network modelling software such as PSSE, Power Factory, ETAP and SKM Power Tools and understanding the output of such application packages.
