Position Title Design Engineer Position Level Based on skills and experience. Location Ditasan, Mehsana, Gujarat Direct Report R&D Head Products Off-Road Machines (Compactors & Pavers) Main Focus & Challenges The position would have responsibility of Design, Development, Integration and Validation of mechanical systems. The role shall include engineering and technical development right from costing, design and development to product launch through interaction with cross functional team of NPD, testing and manufacturing. Specific Responsibilities Vehicle integration for Construction Equipment Vehicles / Automotive vehicles after collaborating with various core competency teams for finalizing the machine layout. Conceptualize, design, review and develop various components for new projects Design calculations, selection and validation tracking of structures, bearings, Anti Vibration Mounts (AVM) and allied components for new product development on Pavers & Vibratory compactors. Conceive, design, validate & deploy Cost reduction VA ideas in order to reduce costs Carry-out engineering deliverables per AMMANN Design Guidelines and World class product development needs. Knowledge of Engineering design processes like NPD stage gate process is preferred Support failure root cause analyses and resolution through visits to field, vendors & assembly line for Pavers & vibratory compactors. Collaborate with Design Analysis & Simulation team with input data for carrying out simulation. Should work in a team for timely delivery of the projects. Design & development of miscellaneous components for new products like transmissions, engines, hydraulics, cooling systems, exhaust systems, operator seats & controls etc. To get involved with suppliers to manage any unseen manufacturability issues develop parts for Proto trials. Discuss and come up with a validation plan for proposed solution and execute test requests. Taking approvals for fitment and assembly from external agencies and document the same. Can manage ECR & ECN processes as per design needs. Software Competencies in Creo 3.0, Inventor 2017, AutoCAD 2017, SAP & SAP PLM. Good communication skills with fluent in English. Qualification & Experience Degree in Engineering Ideal candidate shall possess over 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering Good understanding of costing and able to manage build and budget costs with basic knowledge of production processes, ability to relate to construction equipment is highly desirable Must be able to convert conceptual ideas into finished products. Exposure to working in a multinational, multicultural organization Exposure to field/customer requirement & dealing with OEMs is desirable Proficient in 3D CAD software liks CREO 3.0, Autodesk Inventer Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Hands on experience in PLM / Team-Centre Experience leading / owning project deliverables on time Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively Maintaining quality and standards during daily work Achieve deliverables as per given Timeline Management Behavioral Competencies Team player Excellent interpersonal skills Self-motivated and ability of motivate the team.
