Are you an experienced engineer ready to make a real impact on the reliability and safety of overhead energy assets? Essential Energy is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our overhead network engineering team, driving excellence in overhead network engineering across NSW. This role will be based in Port Macquarie, NSW. Working closely with engineering specialists, operational teams, internal stakeholders, regulators and external partners, the Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership and strategic insight to support current and future network performance. This role requires strong analytical capability, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to influence outcomes across a complex operational environment. Key Responsibilities Lead asset failure trend analysis and investigations for overhead assets and components. Provide expert engineering input into HSE incident investigations. Provide expert engineering input to improve reliability models and drive improvements to maintenance and inspection programs. Develop and own maintenance strategies and regimes to meet performance targets. Define inspection schedules, corrective task timeframes, and tolerances. Set and monitor maintenance quality standards, focusing on inspection quality. Track maintenance programs and corrective actions, highlighting delays or quality issues. Develop construction and maintenance standards, and technical specifications. Perform evaluation of new technologies and solutions for implementation across the network. Extensive experience in energy, electrical, or utilities engineering. Experience in developing and improving electrical utility asset maintenance processes and systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills. Commitment to safety, diversity, and inclusion. About You Required Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering meeting Engineers Australia professional membership requirements (or equivalent aligned with the Washington Accord). Current Driver’s Licence. Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business required licenses, authorisations and other such certificates deemed necessary for the role.
