We have an opportunity for a Senior Engineer, Firmware to join our Apex, NC team. You will serve as a technical leader on the development and testing of embedded firmware and systems. You will set technical direction through architectural design, mentoring team members, and directly developing firmware and systems solutions. You will Develop code in higher-level languages such as C/C++ and working closely with electrical engineers to successfully deliver smart products. You will report directly to the Director of IoT for Pentair Pool.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive and relevant firmware and/or software technical leadership experience
  • 10+ years of firmware development experience on embedded products in C/C++
  • 10+ years of experience with stage gate and agile development processes
  • 5+ years of experience with connected smart products and IoT platforms
  • Tech savvy, detail oriented, and highly driven.
  • Proven experience leading distributed teams across different time zones.
  • Knowledge of IoT security and frameworks, with specific focus on device-level security (hardware root of trust, secure boot, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of RTOS development on different chipsets
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and provide technical leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present ideas and information to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective leadership and influence without managing directly; ability to lead, influence, engage, and coach others to facilitate knowledge transfer, continuous improvement, and ultimately drive engineering excellence.
