Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Engineer – Geotechnical to join our team in Duba, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead and manage geotechnical investigations, designs, and analyses for a variety of infrastructure and construction projects in the region. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering cost-effective geotechnical solutions in challenging environments. Plan, supervise, and interpret geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, in-situ testing, and laboratory testing in arid and desert environments. Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and soil-structure interaction for complex projects. Develop innovative geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, embankments, and other infrastructure components suitable for Saudi Arabian geological conditions. Lead and manage geotechnical aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to deliver integrated project solutions. Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications in compliance with local and international codes and standards. Provide on-site technical support during construction, including monitoring and troubleshooting geotechnical issues. Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project safety and sustainability in the local context. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the geotechnical team. Stay updated on the latest geotechnical engineering techniques and technologies, particularly those applicable to arid regions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; Master's degree preferred Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent is highly desirable Minimum of 15+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on projects in arid or desert environments Advanced knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices, particularly in challenging soil conditions Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, and Rocscience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail Excellent technical writing and communication skills in English Proven project management experience in complex geotechnical projects Familiarity with Saudi Arabian geological conditions, building codes, and local regulations In-depth knowledge of construction methods and materials related to geotechnical engineering in arid regions Experience with deep foundations, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Collaborative mindset with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities Willingness to adapt to the local work culture and environment in Duba, Saudi Arabia Additional Information About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
