The Role
We are seeking to engage a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you’ll be responsible for applying design engineering knowledge and effective project management skills to support the ongoing activities of a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy; providing the complete analysis and design tasks as assigned by Managers or Project Managers. Other key elements will be leading and supporting winning of new work, developing client relationships, enhancing SMEC’s market brand.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC.
- Proactively collaborate with appropriate team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables;
- Actively contribute to the commercial success of projects and the team;
- Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required
standard and in a timely manner.
About You
Suitable applicants will be/have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Engineering; · Relevant industry certification – CPEng, RPEQ (QLD)
- 6-8 years’ professional industry experience, ideally within a consultancy
- Ability to interpret and communicate information of a complex nature; · Client service orientation;
- Proven project management skills (achieving prescribed budget, timeframe and client requirements);
- Familiar with relevant Australian Standards and specifications;
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment; · Ability to apply new knowledge;
- Skills in undertaking a co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment;
- Skills in managing competing priorities and working under pressure;
