Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the position of Senior HV Electrical Engineer in the Surface operation HV Distribution Department.
YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLSET AND ATTRIBUTES:
Electrical Engineering degree with 5+ years post graduate experience
Demonstrated high voltage design / construction experience, i.e. switchyards, transformers, switchboards, protection schemes, etc.
Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards, Acts and Regulations
Capital Project Management experience
Logical thinker with the ability to solve problems and have the tenacity to work until a solution is found
A proactive attitude toward safety and procedural compliance
You will be a flexible individual who likes a challenge
THE ROLE
Reporting to the HV & Refrigeration Superintendent, you will provide visible supervision and ensure the safety, performance and improvement of the Electrical Team when identifying and executing expansionary and sustainability projects that deliver solutions that align with business and asset management strategies. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Safe and successful delivery of capital, sustaining and asset improvement projects including shutdowns in a way that ensures that quality, financial and technical alignment with the business objectives and asset management strategies;
Working closely with the HV Distribution team, to support routine operations, and to respond to breakdown.
The health and safety of the Engineering Team and obligated to contribute to safety leadership across the operations;
Management of incidents & investigations in a timely manner, perform observations of the workforce and work environment; and ensure compliance with site health and safety policies, standards and procedures
Developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency;
Providing visible leadership style and supervision and ensuring compliance to policies, standards and procedures for the Engineering team;
Building and maintaining sustainable partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders, but not limited to the execution and operational teams to prioritise work and improve site asset availability
Facilitation of project scopes and to ensure timelines are met
Management of the HV Capital Budget, providing monthly budget updates and involvement in yearly budget analysis
Involvement and contributions to the North-West Power System (NWPS) committee needs and questions
