Responsibilities

PURPOSE

The Senior Engineer Instrumentation & Control supports Asset capital projects, management of change, and the basis of design required for its outlined engineering discipline. This position works as part of the Modifications and Operational Projects team to ensure project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are in line with the business targets. Managing and ensuring the implementation of Sustainability in Design (SiD) Process in projects at all phases is also a core responsibility.
The role will collaborate with the team of Discipline Engineers and Project Engineers as part of the Modifications and Operational Projects Team. The team is part of the Asset Engineering team which works closely with the Operations, Integrated Operations, Planning, Technical & Environment (PT&E), and Health, Safety and Security (HSS) teams to deliver on our Asset priorities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will:

  • Apply an understanding of discipline specific engineering related terminology, theory, key processes and activities (e.g. civil, structural, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control etc.).
  • Determine minimum quality requirements, execute quality management plans and review quality control activities to enable the achievement of quality objectives across BHP projects.
  • Conduct engineering tasks, verify construction methodologies and advise on engineering decisions for projects in alignment with Project/Construction/Commissioning Engineering Standards.
  • Employ specific/relevant discipline engineering expertise and leadership to meet BHP’s technical expectations.
  • Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
  • Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and assesses risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP’s risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to.
