WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Toyota’s Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Automated Design System Senior Engineer.
We’re seeking an innovative, hands-on control systems engineer with a passion for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automotive technology.
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of IVS, the person in this role will support the IVS department’s objective.

REQUIREMENTS & DOCUMENTATION:

  • Develop and maintain detailed system and functional requirements, along with comprehensive software specifications, to guide ADAS integration into vehicle platforms and facilitate testing.
  • Produce clear engineering documentation and published specifications for development, ensuring alignment with project goals, regulatory standards, and internal processes.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in control systems engineering, including linear/non-linear control, state-space analysis, and robustness/stability evaluations.

AUTOMOTIVE & SAFETY EXPERIENCE

  • Professional experience applying automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) to the design, development, and validation of control systems, including hands-on production experience from prototype to full-scale implementation.
  • OEM vehicle development experience in design and/or evaluation.
  • Proven ability to negotiate engineering concepts and design proposals with Japanese-based automotive companies and Tier 1 suppliers.

ADVANCED EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED EXPERTISE

  • Master’s/PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in electronics hardware development and vehicle integration.

FIELD EXPERIENCE & ADDITIONAL CAPABILITIES

  • Experience supporting vehicle evaluations on proving grounds or on public roads.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Electronics system development
  • Electronic control systems
  • Path planning
  • HMI development
  • Vehicle dynamics
