We’re entering an exciting phase of growth, and we’re looking for a Senior Engineer, Network Safety to help us lead the way.
As the Senior Engineer, Network Safety, you will play a critical role in leading network safety strategy for Asset Management. You will be responsible for strategies to prevent asset failures with a clear focus on fire prevention and community safety.
In this role you will be one of AusNet’s representatives corresponding with our Safety Regulator, collating asset and program data from the wider team, compiling reports to the Safety Regulator and overseeing safety programs on AusNet’s Distribution network.
This hybrid role (Office/WFH) is based in Southbank, Melbourne, and sits within our Asset Strategy & Risk team with our Distribution line of business team.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor adherence to Bushfire Mitigation and Electricity Safety Management Scheme regulations and develop plans and policies that will achieve 100% compliance
  • Analyse electrical safety of network assets and develop plans and policies to eliminate risks
  • Develop and maintain asset management strategies, plans, policies and procedures, including implementing predictive maintenance and enhanced data driven analytics initiatives
  • Assess asset risk profiles and develop mitigation plans and business cases for electrical distribution assets
  • Take control of compliance obligations, developing plans and strategies, consulting with regulators and monitoring the business performance
  • Influence asset management and planning processes including analysis of equipment faults, risk modelling, weather impacts, focussed on asset replacement/maintenance strategies
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversee the management, development and execution of the Bushfire mitigation plan, Electricity Safety Management Scheme, Environmental and other safety obligations, providing strategic advice, guidance and contingency planning
