Job Description Summary Component Engineering, PCB CAM and Sustenance Engineering for PCB and Embedded Hardware Design Job Description Essential Responsibilities: Select, evaluate, and qualify electronic components for PCB designs. Maintain component libraries and ensure accurate part data in CAD tools (Altium) Collaborate with design engineers to optimize component selection for cost, availability, and performance. Interface with suppliers and distributors to source components and manage lead times. Perform component de-rating analysis, lifecycle assessment, and obsolescence risk mitigation. Ensure compliance with RoHS, REACH, PFAS and other regulatory standards. Support existing products through lifecycle management, including component replacements and redesigns. Investigate and resolve field failures, quality issues, and customer complaints with respect to PCB component failure. Drive engineering change orders (ECOs) and documentation updates. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to improve product reliability and manufacturability. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for PCB manufacturability issues. Monitor and report on product performance metrics and reliability trends with respect to PCBs. Prepare and optimize CAM data for PCB fabrication, including Gerber, ODB++, and drill files. Perform DFM and DFA checks to ensure manufacturability and assembly readiness. Interface with PCB fabricators to resolve queries and ensure data integrity. Review stack-up, impedance, and panelization requirements for PCB production. Validate fabrication outputs against design intent and industry IPC standards. Support yield improvement and process optimization through CAM analysis. Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Power Electronics or Electrical / Electronics Engineering or Equivalent Min. 8 + years PCB design, component engineering, and CAM engineering Proficiency in Altium ECAD tools and CAM tools (CAM350, Valor, Genesis).
