  Contract Period: 2- Year/ Permanent   We are looking for high calibre professional to join the Substation Design Section of Plant Branch in Transmission Department. Reporting to the Senior Manager - Substation Design, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties: * Master transmission project requirements, devise project design staged development, and control project activities, including material and resource utilization  * Prepare budgets and engineering deliverables (e.g. substation layout, civil requirements, electrical scheme, equipment design and modification, plant procurement plan, etc.) for transmission projects in accordance with the statutory, safety, technical, cost, quality and customer requirements, and execute the project work to meet the project schedules * Manage key project stakeholders during the course of project design and implementation  * Coordinate with key stakeholders in the exploration, development and implementation of applicable innovations and new technologies in the project cycle * Prepare technical specifications for plant procurement and provision of installation / commissioning services. Evaluate and select competent suppliers and service providers meeting the technical specifications and relevant engineering standards. Devise and implement systems to manage the performance of contractors  * Master the establishment and administration of material and service contracts * Liaise with suppliers / contractors in the design review, engineering, production, type / factory testing and delivery of electrical plant equipment, administer and manage various equipment and service contracts, vet variations and payments, and negotiate and resolve claims and disputes  * Arrange and attend factory visits to ensure the plants ordered are produced in accordance with the approved design and tested in accordance with relevant international standards and / or the testing criteria approved by CLP Power * Perform other duties as and when instructed by supervisor   Requirements: * A recognized university degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent * At least 5 years’ relevant experience in engineering or managing transmission projects * Experience in the procurement process of transmission plant equipment (primary and secondary), supplier assessment, design verification, quality inspection of equipment assembly and / or sub-assembly, witnessing of factory / type acceptance tests, substation layout design, transmission electrical scheme design, and contract administration and management would be an advantage * MHKIE or equivalent qualification is preferable * Familiarity with CLP Power Safety Rules, engineering standards and codes of practice  * Good safety awareness and mindset * Ability to work independently and meet tight deadline         * Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage * Customer-oriented, an effective team leader as well as a team player * A valid Driving License class 1/1a, 2/2a would be an advantage   Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrating good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
