QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Membership in a provincial Professional Engineering Association (APEGA, APEGS, and/or EGBC)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection)

ABOUT THE ROLE

GCM Consultants is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in building systems to join our team and contribute to innovative, high-quality projects across Western Canada. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection to deliver engineering solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in financial planning, including preparation of budgets and proposals
  • Support financial tracking through presentation, results analysis, and implementation of corrective measures
  • Monitor project quality and compliance
  • Contribute to project definition and planning
  • Establish design bases and develop engineering concepts
  • Prepare specifications and drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Size and select mechanical equipment
  • Define technical standards required for projects
  • Develop specification lists
