POSITION OVERVIEW

You’re someone with an analytical mindset who approaches their work through an innovative lens as you safeguard assets. Your attention to detail and technical curiosity drive you to explore, create, innovate, and transform.
As senior engineer, protection and control, you’ll perform fault studies, system protection analysis, and provide protection relay settings for transmission, distribution, and generation systems. Reporting to the engineering supervisor, protection and control, this position focuses on providing technical support and field engineering assistance to various business units across the Company while working to increase reliability, operability, safety, and minimize costs.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply complex regulations and design standards, using professional and engineering principles to address varying situations.
  • Perform independent inspections to ensure compliance with requirements, recommend corrective actions, and assist with broader scope inspections.
  • Write moderately complex permits and documents, including performing modelling under guidance to ensure compliance with statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Develop plans and basic designs with minimal direction, validate designs with stakeholders, and perform in-depth data analysis for input into plans. Review and make recommendations on moderately complex plans and designs for internal approval.
