QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related role in the manufacturing industry. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related role in the manufacturing industry would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 2 years of experience using Quality tools, including Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping.
  • Must possess at least 2 years of experience in the Configuration Change, Material and Engineering Review Board processes.
  • Must possess at least 2 years of experience in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Must possess at 2 years of experience in the use of Pareto Analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping.
  • Must possess at 2 years of experience in PFMEA, SPC, Control Plans, and Process Capability Assessments.

Aerospace Lighting Corp. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Quality Engineering in Cedar Rapids, IA. Up to 30% international travel to Collins Aerospace locations globally to perform quality collaboration activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.
  • Provide analysis and explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes.
  • Analyze and make recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes.
  • Utilize UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify and make recommendations for managing risk in product development.
  • Manage processes to ensure all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
  • Review process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
