Job Title Senior Engineer, Safety Reportingto HSE Manager Business Unit/Function Phosphate BU – EHSS JAL Department HSE JAL Direct Reports N/A Budget/Size N/A Grade M10 Job Family Health, Safety & Environment Sub Family Safety Position Type Full-Time / Regular Role Profile Number Job Purpose Responsible for providing Health & Safety, and Environment (HSE) support to the department’s ongoing operations and project support. The primary role is the development, maintenance and implementation of the company safety management system. Key Accountabilities Plant Procedures on Health & Safety: Develop and coordinate plant procedures on health and safety to ensure a consistent approach to maintaining a safe working environment. Accidents: Determine and coordinate the response to serious accident situations occurring within the plant or in the immediate vicinity, to bring the situation under control and investigate the damage which might otherwise spread. Safety Audit and Prevention Program: Carry out safety audits of all company facilities with a view to identifying and highlighting unsafe conditions and behavior. Establish an action program to prioritize and mitigate the unsafe conditions and behavior. Incident Investigation Reports: Prepare investigation reports based on the investigation of incidents by a Root cause analysis team to determine the root cause of the incident and make recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future. Safety Incident Reports: Review all reports on safety incidents and maintain a record of all incidents and time injuries in order to analyze, track and identify trends in the type of incident. Develop safety strategies and program to address these trends. Safety Training: Plan, design and deliver practical training of employees in safety related matters in order to educate employees in how to identify risk and take appropriate steps to control it. Business Plans for Safety: Prepare budgets and safety plans and programs which facilitate the achievement of safety objectives. Safety Coverage: Ensure adequate safety coverage year-round. Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Minimum Experience: 4 years’ experience in industrial health and safety, preferably in a Petrochemical or Oil and Gas plant pr Mining industry. Skills: -Deep understanding of occupational health and safety standards (e.g., ISO 45001, OSHA, RC). -Proficient in risk assessment techniques and incident investigation methodologies. -Strong communication and leadership skills. -Proficiency in using safety management software and reporting tools.
