Toole Design Group in Silver Spring, MD is looking to hire an experienced and talented full-time Senior Engineer (Traffic/Transportation). QUALIFICATIONS OF A SENIOR ENGINEER (TRANSPORTATION/TRAFFIC):

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil/transportation engineering
  • Professional engineering licensure
  • 10+ years of relevant experience developing traffic engineering design plans, operational and safety analyses, and/or design documents (signing and pavement marking, maintenance of traffic, traffic signals)
  • 2+ years of experience serving in a project or design management role
  • Experience developing conceptual designs for intersections and corridors
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation OpenRoads, Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, MicroStation InRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SIDRA, and/or VISSIM
  • Understanding of basic geometric design principles of roadways and industry roadway design standards
  • Understanding of MUTCD standards at the state and federal level
  • Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
  • An interest in managing and mentoring staff
