Company Description Great Platform for Talent Job Description We are seeking a Underground Design engineer (with a minimum of 10+ years of experience), specializing in Underground Structure Design with a strong understanding of geotechnical and structural principles. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of Underground structure design projects, ensuring the integrity, safety, and functionality of underground structures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions and infrastructure development. Duties and Responsibilities The candidate will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks in the initial planning, design and modification phase of projects. To serve as technical advisor for team. To provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise. To develop design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective solution. To participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables. To participate in bid and to estimate technical efforts for projects. To perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings. To prepare technical reports including Technical Specifications, Design Basis report and other technical reports required for the project. To ensure timely submission of the design deliverables. To Track & monitor the progress w.r.t delivery timeline. To arrange training and plan for the development of team members. Guide team to optimize effort for day-to-day design work and guide them toward increasing their efficiency Excellent technical skills design. Able to correlate and interpret the data shared by supporting interdisciplinary teams. Problem solving skills, able to propose alternative solutions for problems encountered. Experience in complete life cycle of a design project within Highway/Railway environment. Able to work in a diverse team spread across different geographical locations. Able to handle multiple projects and lead highly capable design teams. Ensure Quality Check and Implementation of Engineering Procedure Technical Requirements Performing the complete design of Underground structures i.e. Station, Shaft, Cut & Cover structures, TBM Tunnels. Calculation of retaining structures such as Berliner walls, micro pile walls, joint or secant piles, diaphragm walls, other types of retaining walls. Develop detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for Underground Structures, cross-sections, support systems, and lining structures/segments. Conduct geotechnical assessments and incorporate ground support requirements into designs Perform design calculations related to stability, Buoyancy, Embedment, crack width and other verification of underground Structures Well verse with TBM tunnel Design Optimize layouts to improve safety, productivity, and cost efficiency Review geological and geotechnical data to support design decisions Manage geotechnical risks and propose mitigation strategies Planning and interpreting instrumentation and monitoring data. Proficiency in geotechnical software like PLAXIS 2D, Rocscience Proficiency in Structural Software like Staad, Robot, Oasis Applying design codes such as Eurocodes and AASHTO. Qualifications Qualifications * Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. * 10+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
