YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

  • Hands-on experience or knowledge of semiconductor process technologies or similar including chemical mechanical polishing is a plus.
  • PhD in Materials Science/Electrical Engineering/Chemistry/Physics/Chemical engineering/Mechanical Engineering or other relevant engineering fields with 0-2 years of direct industry or academic research experience. Master’s degree will be considered if combined with 3+ years of significant relevant industry experience.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $92,310 - $131,995. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities
  • Develop novel, robust, and manufacturable chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) processes to achieve critical planarity, roughness, and dimensional targets in nanometer-scale head devices.
  • Maintain chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) wafer processes including investigating root cause of process failures, coordinating execution of experiments, and conducting in-depth data analysis.
  • Collaborate with the broader R&D and Product wafer teams (including lithography, deposition, etch, wet process, and integration) to help integrate new CMP process modules into products
  • Manage experiments/projects and wafer tracking aggressively and deliver results to the designated schedule.
  • Participate in hands-on investigation and resolution of process issues with frequent factory-floor presence.
  • Participate in the technology transfer to the production engineering teams.
  • Interact with design teams to understand design requirements and CTQs for device performance.
