HOW WILL I HELP?

The Westpac Banking Platform domain is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the team. This role focuses on providing advanced solution design and technical leadership expertise in delivering solutions for Loan Originations and Secured/Unsecured Lending projects. The Banking Platform team is involved in several exciting projects aimed at enhancing features for our Digital, Lender, and Broker Channels.
In this role, you will lead the analysis, design, and development of ‘fit for purpose’ IT and business solutions to meet the diverse requirements across the Banking Platform portfolio. You will predominantly operate in an Agile environment, supporting technology capabilities to effectively deliver value to customers.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Review the systems designs of others to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient resource usage, and effective integration of multiple systems and technologies.
• Evaluate and conduct impact analysis on major design options, managing associated risks to ensure that system designs meet functional, service quality, security, and systems management requirements.
• Collaborate with diverse teams across the bank, including Architects, Solution Designers, Infrastructure, Operations, Functional Analysts, Business Teams, and Project Teams, to maintain strong relationships and ensure technology requirements are well understood.
• Provide strong technical leadership to develop functional and technical solutions aimed at delivering reliable, stable, and operationally sound applications that fulfill business requirements.
• Lead and supervise other team members, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high-quality delivery and professional development.
• Offer proactive feedback on complex engineering outcomes, contributing to the specification and design of large systems. Select and implement suitable engineering standards, methods, and tools to ensure alignment with established enterprise architectures. Thoroughly document the technical approach by creating detailed documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and well-structured code.
