Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Engineer Pacific Banking. What’s the role? You’ll join Pacific Banking Technology at a time of real momentum. Based in Sydney / Warrane, Gadigal Country, this is a full time, hybrid role where you’ll play a hands on role modernising banking platforms that support customers and communities across the Pacific. This is a role for experienced senior engineers who can hit the ground running. You’ll design, build and run modern solutions across core banking, payments, digital platforms and enterprise integrations. You’ll own solutions end to end, from early design through to delivery and support, making sound technical decisions that balance security, resilience and performance. You’ll work closely with engineering leaders, delivery teams and external vendors, influencing outcomes and improving platforms as we modernise our technology estate. There’s real breadth here and real impact, with the opportunity to shape how banking technology evolves across Fiji and Papua New Guinea while building cloud ready, scalable systems. What do I need? • Proven experience as a senior engineer delivering complex solutions end to end, with the confidence to make an immediate impact • Strong full stack engineering capability using Java or .NET, with deep experience designing APIs, microservices and enterprise integrations • Strong DevSecOps capability including CI/CD pipeline design and automation, with hands on experience across AWS or Azure and container platforms such as Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift • Solid experience using Python for automation, scripting, data processing and integration, alongside strong SQL skills across MSSQL and PostgreSQL and exposure to data warehousing, ETL and Power BI • Banking and financial services experience is highly beneficial, particularly within regulated environments, along with the ability to work autonomously and partner effectively with vendors and stakeholders Why join us?
