Description

CREATE SOLUTIONS THAT WILL ENABLE A BETTER TOMORROW

To help our clients to design, operate, maintain, repair or renew their structures, we are looking for an experienced generalist to join our team. You will become a part our Danish business unit within Bridges, Tunnels and Marine Structures and get over 600 new colleagues within this field and be an integrated part of a smaller team of 20 people focusing on operation and maintenance.
In this role, you will apply your broad professional skills to manage projects in the interface between specialist and project manager, with support from younger engineers, technical assistants, and collaboration with our key specialists across various disciplines.
Typically, you will be the anchor point for a project from start to finish, beginning with early planning or inspections, through design, and finally overseeing supervision and construction management during execution in the field. For smaller tasks related to operations and maintenance, you will be responsible for the technical leadership of the task or possibly the entire project management yourself.

Your key responsibility will depend on your experience but will most likely be within:

  • Lead repair or renewal projects within infrastructure in Denmark and Scandinavia.
  • Prepare tender material for clients.
  • Perform construction management for our clients.
  • Perform supervision on projects or lead a supervision team.
  • Manage inspection teams, define maintenance and repair strategies for structures.

Currently we are working with projects like Langebro Bridge in central Copenhagen, the New Lillebælt Bridge, Farø Bridge, Møn Bridge, Great Belt Bridge, framework agreements for Vejdirektoratet, but also design of new major bridges.

YOUR SKILLS. OUR TEAM. TOGETHER WE DESIGN THE FUTURE

The first step to effectively contributing in this role is that you are motivated to collaborate with those around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises.

On top of that, you will have:

  • 8 years of relevant experience within operation and maintenance of bridges or tunnels, with diverse experience across multiple structures.
  • Experience with railway structures / projects is a strong advantage.
  • Professional communication skills in both Danish and English, written and spoken.
  • You have a valid driver’s license for a car in Denmark.

Our Danish speaking team enjoys socializing during cake or coffee breaks throughout the day and communicates in an informal manner, often incorporating irony and a touch of sarcasm. A great way to quickly integrate is to bring a cake accompanied by a joke that shows you don’t take yourself too seriously.
On Fridays, we come together to share breakfast, either within the office or among the team. We frequently wrap up the week by gathering for a drink near the coffee machine or at the monthly social gathering before we head into the weekend. A couple of times each year, we leave the office for a fun evening together, which usually includes an activity followed by dining.
If you wish to engage further at COWI, there are numerous clubs and social events to participate in, ranging from sports, board games, and choirs to wine tastings, coffee sessions, and presentations by external speakers.
