Description
Design, analyze and optimize Fuel System equipment with Computer-Aided-Engineering techniques (CAE) and hand based calculations. The primary function of this role is to perform structural analyses using ANSYS, or other suitable analysis tools. The engineer will also be encouraged to complete additional analysis tasks (1D, Thermal, Fluid Dynamics), further support will be provided to develop these analysis skills if and when required. Awareness and knowledge of aircraft fuel systems to properly model and predict the response of a component/system due to environmental conditions (Pressure, Acceleration, Temperature) and installation conditions (Bolted Joints, Seals, etc.). A firm understanding of material science and mechanics (Static and Dynamic Analysis) Develop boundary conditions to ensure proper physics are captured and perform the necessary studies in order to learn and understand how the system behaves for all types of loading and geometrical variations. Support development of new methodologies and technical approaches as necessary to suit a given project based on customer inputs. Interpret aircraft and customer specific requirements and apply as analysis requirements for respective components/systems. Assist in defining compliance strategies for analysis requirements. Providing recommendations for equipment with supporting justification based on technical findings from analysis. Preparing formal reports and flowing technical data to the necessary teams. Supporting technical meetings with internal and external customers Bachelor's degree (Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering) 3 years' experience within an engineering environment Knowledge of Fuel Systems, Assembly Techniques (i.e. Bolted Joints), and material science. Minimum of two (2) years' working knowledge and experience in Finite Element Modelling, preferably with ANSYS. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design, preferably with ANSYS inbuilt CAD Tools (Design Modeller, Spaceclaim, Discovery), CREO or Catia. Excellent communication skills (written and oral), with emphasis on technical writing and presentations (completing and reviewing), and the ability to work effectively with customers and team members. Ability to work in a matrix environment, achieve results and drive change. Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment. Creativity, initiative, and a self-starter attitude. Ability to think independently and solve problems with minimal guidance. Ability to demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills. Keen to learn various analysis skills and motivated to develop a career in analysis. Experience with structured and systematic problem-solving techniques. Experience with failure analysis and prediction techniques.
