JOB DESCRIPTION :

Do you want to work for a company whose purpose is to improve society by considering social outcomes, and to transform businesses, communities, and opportunities for its employees?
Our highly successful water consultancy business is servicing ever-increasing demands from water sector clients. As a result, we have an opportunity for Senior or Principal Engineering Geologist to join our established, and growing Dams, Rivers and Geotechnics team.
Efficient, innovative answers to the challenges of water storage and management - our engineers are designing smart and sustainable solutions to face the water industry’s challenges - do you have the skills and drive to help contribute to their mission?
Clients such as the Environment Agency, water utility companies, hydropower developers and international development agencies trust us to deliver their schemes, and we are looking for a Senior or Principal Engineering Geologist to help us reward that trust.

We put equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of our business, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all. We encourage individual expression in our workplace and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels they can contribute.

Responsibilities:

  • Geotechnical risk management through desk studies, conceptual site model development, geohazard assessment, site investigation, geotechnical data management, and ground modelling.
  • Slope, earthwork, foundation and retaining wall design; for ground conditions including both soils and rocks and with varied groundwater conditions.
  • Geotechnics in the context of dam and reservoir engineering.
  • Supervising the work of more junior staff and providing technical and professional guidance to aid their development.
  • Delivery of packages of study and design work, requiring collaboration with external and internal stakeholders, quality control, management of inputs from other team members, and travel to project sites when necessary.
  • Advancing the team’s capability by advancing technical excellence and digital innovation.
  • Advancing the team’s efficacy by managing your own continuing professional development, and that of others: in particular managing more junior engineering geological staff and supporting their ongoing development towards professional status and beyond.
  • You will be able to express the contribution of your work in the context of social outcomes.
  • You may also be involved in project commercial management, and proposal delivery
