About the Role:
As the Senior Engineering Manager on the Authentication Platform team, you will be reporting to the Senior Engineering manager of our Remittance Risk team. You will lead a team responsible for developing and scaling our platform’s authentication services. You will drive strategic vision, foster technical excellence, and ensure alignment with business needs to safeguard our users’ data and provide a seamless access experience..
You Will:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, ensuring they have clear goals, career development paths, and feedback channels. Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Define and implement a roadmap for the authentication platform, aligned with broader business goals.
- Champion authentication and security standards and practices, while anticipating future scaling requirements.
- Collaborate closely with product managers to understand requirements, translate them into clear, actionable technical tasks, and guide the engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet expectations.
- Own team planning and execution, including quarterly goals, resource allocation, and prioritization.
- Be a role model in upholding Remitly’s cultural values and use them as a framework to mentor other engineers across the company to achieve their full potential.
- Make appropriate tradeoffs between schedule, features, and help the team make sound technical decisions.
You Have:
- You have a BS (accepted) or MS (Preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- You have been an active and productive member of interview teams
- You are experienced in defining technical designs, paradigms and processes across a team with an understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
- 5+ years of experience building and managing a diverse and empowered teams
- Experience with distributed systems and micro-service architecture in production
- Knowledge of distributed systems architectures and infrastructure.
- An engineering mindset that stays technically curious and engaged in innovation and encourages learning in the team.
- Thoughtful leadership with experience in hiring, coaching and retaining engineering talent with multiple needs for personal and professional growth.
- Partner for product management and engineering leaders, equally passionate about working with engineering and non-engineering team members
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $168,000-$210,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
