About the role We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join and lead our new team in the Growth area. Your team will be working closely together in cross-functional collaboration way with other teams in Happening, such as Product Design, Data, QA and others. The Engineering Manager will drive both the people and technical growth for the Growth business area. We’re looking for someone who has: Proven experience (5+ years) leading/managing an engineering team, supporting the growth and performance of engineers and managers Bonus for Bachelors in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field Extreme proactivity and autonomy in the face of ambiguity, identifies problems and drives solutions to them via themselves as well as others Deep understanding of the complex technical problems, software development lifecycle and ensuring reliability and stability of services Track record of driving clarity via written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and organizational skills Experience resolving complex engineering and communication issues across teams and organizations Bonus points for: Experience in online casino or sports betting products and driving improvements to them Understanding of ML models and leveraging them to drive product improvement Academic / Research Machine Learning Supporting of a global organization across multiple time zones, with different role types What you’ll be doing: Leading the team of engineers; reporting directly to you will be engineers (as the team is growing, managers will be brought in) Ensure growth and development opportunities for all team members which includes employee coaching and mentoring, identifying and removing roadblocks and distractions, running regular 1:1s and feedback sessions with team members, performing performance reviews for the direct reports Nurturing a strong relationship with other engineering managers, technical leads and product managers Stakeholder coordination: defining priorities, managing expectations, ensuring regular updates and follow-ups regarding the teams’ scope of work Supporting engineering department goals by setting team requirements, goals and timelines Making relevant technical and business decisions that ensure predictable delivery in terms of timelines, stability, and performance Building and maintaining the culture of engineering excellence - we don’t cut corners when it comes to quality and reliability About us We are a global technology company dedicated to building the future of entertainment and fan-centric experiences.
