Your New Role In this 18 Month contract the Enterprise Risk Senior Lead (Senior Lead) is a dynamic and versatile second-line role offering exceptional variety and exposure. In this position, you’ll play a pivotal part in supporting Group Risk departments, as needed, stepping in to temporarily fill in for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) participating in a risk transformation project. As a Senior Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering multiple initiatives simultaneously, collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders including Group Risk colleagues, first-line risk specialists, and business teams. You’ll work within the Group Risk Enablement team, alongside experienced professionals, and may also provide guidance to junior colleagues as directed by the Senior Manager. To be successful you will have extensive hands-on risk management experience within financial services. Your responsibilities will span across strategic and operational risk activities, including but not limited to; Lead key Line 2 business-as-usual activities and contribute to initiatives across Group Risk departments. Support Initiative Leads in delivering risk transformation projects and ensure milestones are achieved. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Operate in alignment with Line 2 roles and responsibilities under the Fund’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework. Drive progress towards Group Risk’s Domain Plan priorities and business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships across Line 1, Line 2, and Line 3 teams. Prepare and present reports for senior forums, including Board and Board Committees. Promote the Fund’s values, decision pillars, and leadership principles in all activities. Mentor and support the development of less experienced colleagues within Group Risk, particularly in the Enablement team. What You’ll Need 12 plus years’ experience in risk management with a proven track-record of success Proven expertise in; Developing and implementing risk management frameworks; Involvement in risk transformation projects; Writing / reviewing policies and standards; Developing and managing risk appetite, risk and control assessments, controls testing, monitoring, and assurance; Conducting obligation assessments, risk reporting, and incident management; Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Regulated industry experience, ideally in financial services with experience in superannuation highly regarded Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Innovative, creative and curious with a strong growth mindset Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper. Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
