The senior environmental coordinator is responsible, as assigned, for planning, implementing and leading core environmental programs relating to ecosystem management, including habitat protection, species at risk, monitoring programs, water quality, contaminated lands, and other environmental factors. This role is also responsible for supporting environmental monitoring programs, supporting environmental aspects of project development and other environmental issues. Additional activities assigned to this position may include support and development of related program activities such as early issues identification, habitat stewardship, air, noise, and water quality review and management, the development of best management practices and guidelines, and support for contaminated site assessment and land management programs. Important aspects of the work include related communications with internal and external customers and port authority representation on interagency committees and project-related negotiations.
