We’re seeking a motivated Environmental Scientist to join our Contaminated Land team in Western Australia. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in delivering strategic and practical solutions to clients facing environmental management challenges. You’ll also play a key role in developing our contaminated land services, actively pursuing new projects and contributing to the growth of the business unit.

Responsibilities

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY TASKS WOULD INVOLVE:

  • Deliver preliminary and detailed contaminated land assessments, prepare site management plans, remediation action plans and other reports for external and internal clients.
  • Lead and supervise a range of investigations, including soil, vapour, surface water, groundwater assessments and drilling programs.
  • Prepare cost-effective, tailored fee proposals.
  • Initiate, plan, lead and execute contaminated land and groundwater projects from start to finish.
  • Engage with clients and internal disciplinary teams to determine innovative and pragmatic solutions to complex environmental problems.
  • Analyse data and prepare clear and concise technical reports to a high standard.
  • Support the learning and progression of junior staff within the team.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU’LL NEED:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology.
  • A minimum of 5 years in contaminated land projects, with hydrogeology experience desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in site supervision, managing complex site investigations and various sampling methods, including soil and groundwater.
  • Strong knowledge of NEPM and contaminated land provisions within WA.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Strong business acumen to manage projects commercially, highly desirable but not essential.
  • Valid/current driver’s licence and the ability to travel to sites for field work.
  • A collaborative mindset for continuous improvement and a sense of ownership.
