Location: Ashcroft Employment Type: Full-time Ashcroft Terminal and the PSA Group are seeking a Senior Equipment Operator to join our growing team! As the only private logistics terminal in Canada with CPKC & CN mainlines onsite, ATL is strategically located to help shippers, manufacturers, and producers prepare their commodities for export or import. As a member of PSA International, Ashcroft Terminal is part of a global network of supply chain professionals! In the position of Senior Equipment Operator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, loading, and movement of copper concentrate within our terminal. This role involves operating mobile and rail-related equipment, coordinating railcar movements, loading product to specification, and maintaining a strong commitment to safety in an active industrial environment. In this position, you will be responsible for: Operational Support * Operate the Titan railcar mover to safely position railcars for loading activities. * Coordinate railcar movements with rail and operations personnel to ensure safe and efficient workflow. * Operate a wheel loader to handle and load copper concentrate into railcars. * Operate overhead cranes as required to support facility operations. * Perform rigging activities safely and in accordance with established procedures. * Load railcars accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with product specifications and weight restrictions. * Verify railcar placement and securement procedures are followed in accordance with site and regulatory requirements. * Maintain awareness of active rail operations and ensure all work is performed safely around moving equipment and rail assets. * Monitor loading activities to prevent product loss, contamination, or uneven distribution. * Maintain productivity targets while adhering to all safety and environmental requirements. * Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine inspections of mobile equipment, railcar mover, loaders, cranes, and other operational equipment. * Identify, document, and report mechanical deficiencies or equipment concerns promptly. * Perform basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance tasks where appropriate. * Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition. * Conduct pre-use inspections of lifting equipment and report any deficiencies. Basic Administration: * Complete and maintain accurate operational records, logs, inspection reports, and equipment documentation. * Record railcar loading information, product weights, and movement activities in accordance with company procedures. * Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation of materials and loading records as required. * Report safety concerns, incidents, near misses, equipment deficiencies, and operational issues promptly and accurately. * Complete detailed and accurate timecards in ADP. * Read and sign off on all related company SOPs. For success in this role, you must have: * Previous experience with copper concentrate handling, loading of railcars with concentrates & lid handling is preferred. * Rail experience and CROR (Canadian Rail Operating Rules) qualification. * Valid class 5 driver's license with a satisfactory driving record. * Knowledge of rail operations, railcar handling, and rail safety practices. * Experience operating a wheel loader in an industrial or bulk material handling environment. * Experience working around heavy equipment and active rail operations. * Familiarity with working-alone procedures and the ability to work safely with minimal direct supervision. * Strong understanding of workplace safety principles, hazard identification, and risk mitigation. * Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability and situational awareness. * Strong communication and organizational skills.
