Job Summary We are seeking an experienced APAC Execution Trader to join our trading team in Hong Kong. Northern Trust Investments is a 1.4 trillion-dollar asset manager with offices around the globe. Our equity trading desk in Hong Kong is one of three execution desks with the other 2 residing in London and Chicago. The equity trade desk is responsible for the execution of equity, futures, and FX across the globe in support of our global asset management business. A successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of the APAC portion of our book of business and interaction with our PM teams located in Hong Kong and Australia. Key Responsibilities Trading & Execution: Execute and monitor trading across APAC equity, FX, and derivatives to achieve stated benchmarks while minimizing slippage. Job Description Executes trades with the goal of minimizing market impact. Ensures that orders are executed fairly and equitably. Apprises portfolio managers and other appropriate parties of relevant information affecting securities prices (e.g. trading volume, corporate actions, etc.). Records, measures, reviews, and analyses trading performance. Responds to client and partner inquiries as needed. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governing investments and trading. Conducts trading activity in a timely and accurate manner. Monitors relationships between portfolio managers and traders to ensure accurate and acceptable communication and order execution. Follows index constitutions and advises portfolio managers of relevant changes. Maintains broker relationships to achieve portfolio objectives. Years of Experience 7+ years of experience within the trading process in a fiduciary environment, college education strongly preferred and participation in Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program or MBA program preferred. Competences/Knowledge Knowledge of investment instruments, general industry practices, market structures, execution and measurement techniques, trust trading guidelines, regulatory environment and specific securities laws and regulations. Knowledge of the context in which trading activity occurs (i.e., favorable and unfavorable effects of various transactions on stock price, etc.), acquired through work experience, to execute trades with minimal market impact. Experience with trading order management systems (OMS) and execution management systems (EMS) including Aladdin, Trition, Flextrade, Portware, FXall and FX Connect Technical Skills: Familiarity in Python, Snowflake, or with data visualization software (including Power BI or Tableau) a plus. Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of APAC equity, FX, or structured products. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative. MBA or CFA preferred.
