POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Estimate Specialist is a highly skilled estimator responsible for producing detailed and accurate cost estimates for a wide range of signage projects, including complex custom signs, engineered signage, and projects requiring permitting and vendor coordination. This role requires deep expertise in fabrication methods, materials, and installation, and serves as a mentor and technical resource within the estimating team.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of signage fabrication, engineering, and installation practices.
  • Expertise in Print IQ or similar estimating tools.
  • Ability to interpret building codes, signage regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and crossfunctional collaboration.
  • Mentorship and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, CRM systems, and vendor management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in signage, construction, or manufacturing.
  • 35 years of experience in estimating signage or custom fabrication projects.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex or highvalue estimates.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and municipal codes.
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring team members is a plus.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyze plans, specifications, and scope documents for complex and custom signage projects.
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates using Print IQ, historical data, and benchmark pricing.
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and design teams to clarify and refine scope.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for specialized materials and fabrication.
  • Review and apply municipal permitting and code requirements during the estimating process.
  • Provide technical input on materials, fabrication methods, and installation strategies.
  • Identify and communicate project risks, costsaving opportunities, and potential scope gaps.
  • Mentor Estimating Associates and Specialists; provide training on advanced estimating techniques.
  • Lead pricing efforts on highvisibility or fastpaced projects.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and innovations.
