POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Estimating Manager is responsible for overseeing the estimating department and ensuring accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves leading a team of estimators, developing estimating strategies, and collaborating with project management to enhance the bidding process and drive competitive pricing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in estimating within the heavy civil construction industry.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, project management, and contract administration.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate a team.
• Experience with wastewater, bridges, and roadway projects is preferred.

• Lead and mentor a team of estimators in the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates.
• Develop and implement estimating processes and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Review and analyze project specifications and drawings to prepare detailed estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to determine project requirements and cost-effective solutions.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and manage the procurement process.
• Oversee the preparation of bid proposals and presentations to clients.
• Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs to improve estimating accuracy.
