Description:
Senior Estimator, Commercial/Residential Roofing Division
Location of work: 305 Rutherford Road South, Brampton Ontario, L6W 3R5, including attending client sites in the province of Ontario.
Terms of employment: Permanent Full time (Onsite)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week
Wage range: $70,865 - $73,000 annually

Responsibilities:
Estimating
· Work in conjunction with the sales and management teams. Gathering and forwarding to the estimating team all data (plans, specs, dimensions) relevant to tapered design project estimation.
· Perform take-offs on site, at client’s office, on the Construction Association’s virtual drawings room or through appropriate contacts).
· Responsible for generating estimates for commercial/residential roofing and exterior cladding projects.
· Ensure estimates adhere to provincial building code and municipal building regulations.
· Adhere to contractual terms and conditions on various aspects of commercial/residential building projects.
· Handle technical questions from the estimator team, Architects, Consultants and Contractors.
Project Coordination
· Ensure pricing is both current and accurate and manage the material costing database. Make any necessary adjustments to outstanding quotations as price increases or changes to products that have been quoted are announced.
· Ensure proper material lead times are documented for the client and notice of inventory requirements are updated for shipping to ensure delivery dates can be met.
· Prepare cost and expenditure statements and provide forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a project.
Sales and Sales Authority
· Maintain relationships with contractors and clients. Approve pricing related matters for clients and suppliers within set rules.
· Assist sales team with customer negotiations and collection of competitor pricing for future considerations.
· Manage CRM Sales Force database
o Include tracking win/losses, estimates, quotations, competitors pricing history, new customers, Architects, Builders, Specifiers etc.
o Develop new clients; maintain and grow ongoing business relationships through direct and frequent communication.
· Review and approve all contracts and any suggested modifications to tendered quotes ensuring complicity to each the intent guidelines for each project.
· Develop standardize estimating and tendering procedures for you and your team.
Performance Measures
· Achieve sales revenue and margin targets.
· Develop long term relationships with target customers.
· Estimating and shop drawing Accuracy
Authority
· Assisting Technical Specification Manager with Hiring/Recommendations/Terminations/Discipline
· Train, Coach, Mentor and Support estimating team
Experience/Skills and other requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering technology
· Graduate diploma or certificate in Construction Project Management, is considered an asset
· 2+ years of proven experience working in the construction field in a similar or related position
· Certificate in Working at Heights: Principles of Fall Protection
· Certificate in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS)
· Active Member of Professional Engineers of Ontario, is considered an asset
· Pursuing P. Eng, Engineer in Training, is considered an asset
· Proven knowledge in Commercial/Residential Roofing
· Previous experience estimating projects, in particular preparing Master Format (Class A) estimates
· Ability to analyze information closely, estimate, plan, and pay attention to detail
· Proven experience with sloped/tapered roof insulation
· Exceptional oral and written communication skills
· Working knowledge of the following software:
o CRM Customer Relationship Management – (Saleforce)
o Tapered estimating – (Taperplus)
o AutoCAD
o Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publishing, Outlook)
· Experience with other estimating software is considered an asset
· Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle
