Highlights of what our Assistant Chief Estimator will do:

  • Maintains and improves Precision Database.
  • Executes landscape and irrigation take-offs.
  • Inputs take-offs into spreadsheet.
  • Obtains pricing for materials.
  • Obtains bids from sub-contractors.
  • Creates job files.
  • Prepares cost analysis by recapitulating material cost, labor cost, and overhead cost incurred in the fabrication or assembly of part(s).
  • Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate.
  • Informs immediate supervisor and/or materials department of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in bill of materials and routing.
  • Maintains records and files for all related source documents pertaining to product cost, performance against standards, etc.
  • Reviews take-offs prepared by estimators.
  • Sets departmental budget and goals for this year.
  • Makes sure that the department functions efficiently and effectively by purchasing equipment and materials as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Business Administration, Construction Management or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience as a landscape/construction estimator.
  • Experience with supervising and training team of Estimators.
  • Knowledgeable with landscape, irrigation, site drainage, and site development construction
  • Experienced with takeoff and estimating software.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel and mathematics
  • Extremely detailed and strong work ethic
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • OST & Sage Estimating experience preferred but not required
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
