QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of civil estimating experience in:
  • Sewer/Watermain/Stormwater: Pipe materials, trenching, manholes, valves, ponds, culverts, etc.
  • Earthworks: Grading, excavation, compaction, haul calculations, erosion control.
  • Roadworks: Subgrades, granulars, paving, curbs, sidewalks, markings, and surface restoration.
  • Strong skills in take-offs, cost breakdowns, value engineering, and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, PlanSwift, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of OPS standards, municipal codes, and Ontario tendering processes.

Relevant Ontario certifications such as:

  • Certified Engineering Technician (C.Tech) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) – OACETT
  • Gold Seal Certification in Estimating – Canadian Construction Association
  • P.Eng. designation in Civil Engineering (an asset)
  • WSIB Health & Safety Awareness Training (Ontario)
  • Knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standards (OPS) and Ontario Building Code (OBC)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment with field methods.
  • Analyze bid outcomes and historical data for continuous improvement.
  • Support value engineering efforts and mentor junior estimators.
