About the Opportunity – Senior Estimator (Construction & Civil Projects) Are you a detail-oriented and analytical professional looking to progress your career as a Senior Estimator? We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team, supporting the delivery of high-quality construction and civil projects across New Zealand. Senior Estimator Responsibilities – Cost Estimation, Tendering & Project Support Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for a range of construction and civil engineering projects, including materials, plant, labour, and subcontractor analysis. Interpret and review project drawings, specifications, and related contract documentation to understand project scope and requirements. Assist with the preparation and submission of tender documents and support bid processes through effective collaboration with project managers and engineers. Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and manage pricing information. Maintain organised records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Senior Estimator Skills & Experience – Construction, Civil, Analytical Previous experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator in heavy civil, or other civil is preferred but not essential for highly analytical engineering candidates, will be considered too. Relevant tertiary qualifications in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or equivalent experience will be highly regarded. Strong commercial and numerical acumen with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Good understanding of local civil construction methods, materials, and market rates in New Zealand. Proficiency in Candy estimation software (or similar) is advantageous. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise workloads, and adapt in a fast-paced team environment.
