JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cost estimation within the RC Frame, Groundworks and Basements sector. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are accurately estimated, allowing for effective budgeting and resource allocation. The Senior Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver precise and competitive estimates that align with project goals.
Projects are generally undertaken on the behalf of leading developers and main contractors including Galliford Try, Higgins and Taylor Wimpey so you can look forward to a sustainable workload of landmark schemes up to 50 storeys in height.
Our client is a well-established construction specialist based in Hertfordshire, with over five decades of experience in reinforced concrete frames, groundworks, and piling. Their projects span commercial, residential, and civil engineering sectors, with values between £5m and £50m, and operations across London, the Southeast, and the Midlands.
With strong client relationships and a growing pipeline of work, they are now seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to help take the business to the next level.

SKILLS

  • Proven experience as an estimator in the RC Frame, Groundworks and Basements sector..
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of cost control principles and practices is essential.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure competitive bidding.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of costs for future reference.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and presentations to clients.
  • Implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle to monitor expenses against budget.
