Description:

  • Prepare accurate, timely and well organized construction estimates at various stages of design including concept with limited information to detail construction drawings for various properties on a national basis
  • Prepare estimates for new construction, renovations and Tenant fit – ups
  • Work with Real Estate Team to ensure construction estimates are updated and relevant
  • Review soils, environmental & designated substance reports to ensure budgets reflect incremental costs and recommend cost effective alternatives
  • Prepare cost comparisons as required
  • Develop & maintain cost analogs based on historical data
  • Source new alternative cost efficient materials and methods of construction
  • Review sub-trade quotes to verify conformity with bid documents
  • Tracks spending, reviews cost proposals and negotiates pricing; track against budget
  • Maintain relationships and database of subcontractors and supplier through phone and email etc
  • Performs project analysis work and prepares presentation packages for approval.
  • Assist in coordinating Due Diligence work for new and existing sites

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Min post Secondary Education Technical Diploma - CET (Civil Engineering Technology)
  • Minimum of 5-10 years Construction Estimating experience in the ICI (Industrial Commercial Institutional) sector preferred
  • Design Build Estimating background is an asset
  • Ability to reviewing agreements and RFP’s
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to time manage and meet multiple tasks within a high-pressure work environment
  • Ability to manage at different levels of an organization
  • Excellent problem solving, strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with various Microsoft Office application i.e. Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Must be flexible to travel within Canada
