Job Description The Senior Mechanical Estimator will play a critical role in developing accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems across complex projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of mechanical systems, and the ability to manage cost databases to ensure precision and consistency in estimating practices. Responsibilities Prepare detailed mechanical discipline estimates for all project phases (conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction). Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to validate scope and pricing. Maintain and update cost databases (Sage, Trimble, etc.) to ensure accurate benchmarking and historical data. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering recommendations. Review subcontractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness. Support risk analysis and contingency planning for mechanical estimates. Ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 7+ years of experience in mechanical estimating within industrial or commercial construction. Proficiency in estimating software and cost databases (Sage, Trimble, or similar). Strong understanding of mechanical systems, codes, and industry standards. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or advanced manufacturing projects. Familiarity with BIM tools and integration with estimating platforms. Advanced Excel skills and ability to develop custom estimating templates.
