Working to the protect the state’s environment and heritage.   * Internal expression of interest * Temporary, full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity up to January 2027 * Newcastle or NSW office location negotiable, hybrid working supported * Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super   Our Biodiversity & Heritage Regulator team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Estuary Project Officer to contribute to the delivery of estuary and coastal management programs across NSW.   In this role, you will support the development and delivery of programs and projects that manage estuary risks and improve ecosystem health across coastal NSW. You will provide technical expertise, contribute to policy and program design, and prepare high-quality briefings, reports and advice on complex issues. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will engage with stakeholders across government and the community, helping to deliver effective, evidence-based outcomes aligned with the NSW Coast and Estuary Management Program.   About You   You are an experienced professional with strong knowledge of estuarine systems and coastal management programs, and the ability to apply this expertise in a policy and program delivery context. You bring sound judgement, analytical capability and experience supporting the delivery of complex projects in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Your ability to provide clear, evidence-based advice and contribute to sensitive or complex issues will be key to your success.   A collaborative and proactive team member, you build effective relationships with stakeholders and communicate complex technical information clearly.
