Description

Who we are
CHEM Trust is a highly respected environmental and health NGO dedicated to preventing synthetic
chemicals from causing long-term harm to wildlife and human health. Every day, people and
nature are exposed to hazardous chemicals that can disrupt hormones, contribute to disease, and
threaten biodiversity. We work tirelessly to ensure these harmful substances are regulated and
replaced with safer alternatives.
Our work focuses on and influences chemical policy at the
highest levels and ensures that health and environmental concerns remain a priority for
governments, regulators, and businesses.
CHEM Trust is a collaboration between CHEM Trust, a UK registered Charity and CHEM Trust Europe
eV, which is a charity (eV) based in Germany. Both legal entities work closely together on
projects under the name CHEM Trust.
Benefits of working at CHEM Trust
31 days annual leave (plus public holidays)
Generous pension package: 8% employer contribution, 4% employee
Flexible, hybrid working arrangements with a London office base
Supportive policies for staff with caring responsibilities
A family-friendly and inclusive organisational culture
Summary of the role
A large part of CHEM Trust’s work is focused on the EU level, as the EU is an important global
economic bloc, has democratic decision-making processes, and is a global leader in most aspects
of chemicals policy. However, these policies need improvement to properly protect human
health and the environment.
This senior EU advocate role will support the implementation and management of our EU work, including
policy, advocacy, and campaigning work, in association with the Director of Policy and Advocacy,
other team members, and our network of expert consultants around the EU. This job will
require travel to Brussels and other European countries.
We are looking for someone who has experience in successfully influencing decision-making
processes, including working with civil servants, experts, elected politicians and civil society. You should
be comfortable working with detailed technical scientific issues and should ideally have a
scientific background. You must also have the right to live and work in the
UK
