Description
This position sits in the Accounting & Reporting team reporting to the Head of Accounting & Reporting. The position will be part of the team responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate financial and regulatory reports to internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will also be able to gain exposure to and potentially drive change projects and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: Manage the accounting activities during monthly, quarterly and annual closings (i.e. journal postings, reconciliations, transaction matching), including uploads into Group reporting system. Support on local statutory and regulatory reporting in accordance with local / international accounting standards and group policies. This will include MAS, IRAS, ACRA submissions. Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and tax authorities, to ensure that annual accounts, income tax and GST returns are submitted on time and in accordance with requirements. Maintain up-to-date processes, workflows, and SOPs, ensuring adherence with processes and controls. Support in/Drive change projects and process improvement initiatives. Other ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned. Capabilities and Qualifications: Degree in Accountancy and Finance or equivalent. At least 5 years of relevant experience with an insurer, preferably in the General Insurance business. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, attention to detail and good team player. Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills. Experience in local reporting regime and SAP financial accounting system will be advantageous.
